This Grammar course is aimed at teachers of English as a foreign language. The program covers two main aspects: First, the theory and grammatical analysis of texts in context; second, the teaching of grammar and its implications for the production of speech and written texts. The ultimate goal is to offer students fundamental tools to approach grammar analysis, and to evaluate the role of grammar in their communicative competence and their students'.
This theoretical and practical course is dedicated to exploring the relationship between linguistic factors and the social and cultural factors that influence human communication. The main theoretical approaches and methods of sociolinguistics are presented and discussed. Emphasis is placed on the uses and applications of sociolinguistics in the field of teaching and learning English as a foreign language.
